Daliah, the popular restaurant known for its schnitzel, swings and support of Shanghai's queer community, has shut its doors, becoming yet another popular venue that has shuttered in recent months.

A post on Daliah's official WeChat account announced the Shaanxi Bei Lu spot's closure last Thursday (Feb 21), saying that the restaurant served its last dish (a bowl of spicy fries) on Jan 30. However, it's not all bad news.

Here's what's happening next: another post from its official account released yesterday (Feb 23) has announced the 'super soft opening' of Jin Hua Yunnan Food Club at the same space on Shaanxi Bei Lu.

From the same team behind Daliah and in collaboration with SLURP!, Jin Hua (golden flower, named after an old Yunnan term for women), will be bringing a tropical vibe and serving dishes like fried Yunnan goat cheese with rose jam, and sour fermented bamboo with minced meat.

The current opening hours are midday-midnight, so head on down to check out a concept that, despite being new, we're hoping still has all of Daliah's uniqueness and charm.
