Taking over the former Vino e Tapas space, Banana Moon features a pleasant back room with large windows that open out onto the street during warmer weather. An eclectic decor surrounds comfortable, casual furniture, while the focus is on serving a range of wines from around the world.
Wines by the glass start from 55RMB for a South African Chardonnay or a Western Cape Shiraz. Bottles - both New and Old World - go from around 250RMB. It's an extensive list, though (at least in the opening weeks) the staff unfortunately lack the education to really talk you through it properly, or even to serve the drinks at the correct temperature in some cases.
In addition to the wines, there are beers (from 35RMB for a draft Asahi), standard cocktails (60-75RMB) and a small food menu featuring fish, meat, noodle (well, pasta) and rice dishes, plus pizza and burgers from 65RMB.
