218 Yuyuan Lu
Opened in 1933, The Paramount was one of the most notorious and glamorous dance halls in China. In its heyday, The Paramount was popular amongst the biggest tycoons, politicians and celebrities (including Charlie Chaplin) from around the world. After having been converted into a cinema then a nightclub over the years, the building finally underwent a revamp in 2013. The original art deco tower has since been rebuilt, alongside dance floors and banquet spaces on the second and third floors. Now, you can linger in the 1930s Shanghai vibe while dancing or enjoying food and music in The Paramount.
